formerly of Ashby; 36

ASHBY -- Mark J. "Jay" Haven, 36, formerly of Ashby, died unexpectedly June 9, 2013, at Health Alliance -- Leominster Hospital.

Mark was born in Fitchburg, May 11, 1977, the son of Mark J. and Patricia A. (Spencer) Haven and resided much of his life in Ashby before moving to the Leominster area seven years ago. He was a 1995 graduate of Montachusett Regional Technical School in Fitchburg where his focus of study was electrical.

For several years Mark owned and operated an auto repair service and was a master mechanic who had a God given gift to fix anything. His most recent location was on Central Street in Leominster. He enjoyed working on and restoring antique automobiles. Mark was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, snowmobiling and four wheeling. His time was most spent enjoying his family.

Besides his parents, he leaves his soulmate, Nicole Pepin Harris of Leominster, her two daughters whom he adored, Ashley Harris and Alyssa Harris both of Leominster; three sisters, Stacey A. Jackson and her husband Gary of Ashburnham, Lyndsy J. Butler and her husband Jason of Ashburnham, and Rebecca A. Haven of Sterling. He also leaves behind his paternal grandmother, Barbara Haven of Florida. He will be affectionately remembered by his many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mark especially loved spending time mentoring his nephews Austin and Jack. Mark loved life and was well known. He leaves behind many friends and will be greatly missed by all.

He was predeceased by his sister, Kimberly M. Haven of Ashby in 1997 and his grandparents, John Haven of Townsend and Ernest and Barbara Spencer of Sterling.

HAVEN -- Funeral services will be held 10 AM Friday, June 14th at The Church of the Nazarene, 800 South Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Ashby.

Calling hours are 4-7 Thursday at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 250 Main Street (Rte 119) Townsend Center. Please see www.andersonfuneral.com for additional information.
