Robert E. Barrett
Loving husband, father, and brother; 59
FITCHBURG -- Robert Ernest Barrett, 59, beloved husband, wonderful father and cherished family member, son of Raymond and Alma Barrett, died Monday, December 31st, 2012, of a sudden medical condition.
He leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Susan (Aubin), his four children, Michelle and Nicole, Bobby, and Matthew. Robert was a longtime Fitchburg resident and is survived by his three brothers, Raymond, Dennis, and David; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father, and his sister, Maryann in 1963.
Bob was above all else, a family man. At his happiest, he was surrounded by those who knew him best and who could appreciate his genuine and true nature, laugh at his jokes, and benefit from his unwavering spirit. He loved, and was loved by, all children. In life, his years were spent providing for his family, being a loving husband, and raising his four children as a model father.
Even after suffering through bouts of diabetes-related illnesses more recently, Bob stayed strong and graceful, an ever remaining pillar of support for his family. He died with a heart full of love and laughter. A gregarious, kind, and gentle man; full of perspective, which he so readily shared.
Robert Barrett was a good man, and his family will not be the same without him.
BARRETT -- The funeral will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 6-9 P.M. on Sunday, January 6, 2013 in the funeral home.

Sue and family, We are so shocked and saddened by the loss of Bob. He was so well loved here at Earthlink by everyone that worked closely with him. His humor and clever feedback always lightened the mood and kept me smiling. A group of us had so much fun at dinner while in Alabama in October. He spoke so fondly of his children and of his lovely wife. My heart is breaking for your family at this time. I am so sorry for your loss. We will miss him dearly.
