Svea Charlotte (Lindberg) Wicker: 96 FITCHBURG --Svea Charlotte (Lindberg) Wicker, 96, a resident of Fitchburg for the past 38 years, died Friday, May 15, in the Highlands Longterm Care Center, with her loving husband by her side. She leaves her husband of 38 years, Henry V. Wicker; one sister, Beatrice Waters of Northborough, MA; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Paul, Henry and Birtic Lindberg and one sister, Elsa Swenson. Mrs. Wicker began her career at AT&T as a Switchboard Operator and retired 37 years later as a Traffic Manager. She was a 1936 graduate of West Boylston High School and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, boating, fishing, and reading. She was born in West Boylston, MA, on June 21, 1918, a daughter of the late Carl and Anna (Johnson) Lindberg, and lived in West Boylston all of her life, before moving to Fitchburg. WICKER -- Svea's Funeral will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 20, from the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli and Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 243 Water St., Fitchburg, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Bernard's Parish @ St. Camillus Church, 333 Mechanic St., Fitchburg. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston, MA. Calling hours at the Funeral Home are on Wednesday, May 20, from 9 to 11 a.m. Please visit for further information.
