VanHazinga, George Owen  
George Owen VanHazinga Fitchburg, MA native; 60 BATH, MAINE -- George Owen VanHazinga, died at home in Bath, ME, suddenly but peacefully, on Wednesday, August 26, 2015. He was born on May 4, 1955, in Fitchburg, MA, the son of Andrew VanHazinga and Amy (Wartiainen) VanHazinga. He was a graduate of Philips Academy, Andover, and spent a year of study abroad at Christ's Hospital in Horsham, England. He graduated from Swarthmore College and earned a Master's Degree in City and Regional Planning from Harvard University. At the time of his death, he was working from home as an appraiser with Health Care Valuation Advisers in Princeton, MA. George grew up on a dairy farm as the youngest of four children. He learned the value of hard work and patience, and was attuned to the natural rhythms of life, birth, and death. He was gently practical in his attitudes and outlook, and was blessed with a good sense of humor. George was a deeply loving husband and father to whom family was very important. He was also a committed Christian, a member of the Episcopal Church all his adult life. He served as Senior Warden at St. James's Church, Porter Square, Cambridge, MA, and did volunteer work in the archives of the Diocese of Maine. He is survived by his spouse, the Rev. Edward R. Greene, of Bath; his son, Andrew VanHazinga and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth of Fitchburg, MA; his daughter, Cornelia VanHazinga of Waltham, MA; his daughter, Mary Grace VanHazinga of Leominster, MA; four grandchildren: Adeline, William, David, and Wilhelmina; his sister and brother, Virginia VanHazinga and Kenneth VanHazinga of Shoreham, VT; his former wife and close friend, Emily Randall of Fitchburg, MA; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Russell VanHazinga, of Westminster, MA. His funeral service will be a celebration of the Eucharist at Grace Episcopal Church, 1100 Washington St., Bath, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2015. At his request, there will be no calling hours or viewing. A gathering of family and friends will follow at Tubb's Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Grace Episcopal Church in Bath, or St. James's Episcopal Church, 1991 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140. Morris, Kathleen A.  
Kathleen A. Morris of Winchendon; 70 WINCHENDON -- Kathleen A. (Brow) Morris, 70, of Winchedon, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, August 25th. She was born in Winchendon on February 26, 1945, daughter of the late Raymond E. and Kathleen A. (Chard) Brow. Kathy was a 1963 graduate of Our Lady of Monadnock Academy and a 1967 graduate of Our Lady of the Elms College, where she was recognized as a member of "Who's Who Among Students." She later graduated with a Master Degree from Assumption College and earned various other credits. Kathy was an English teacher at Narragansett Regional High School from 1967 until her retirement in 2001 and served for several years as department chairman. She was also a member of the Adjunct Faculty at Mt. Wachusett Community College in Gardner from 2000 to 2015. An accomplished golfer, Kathy held memberships at different times in both Gardner and Winchendon and was a former City of Gardner Woman's Champion. Kathy was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She enjoyed traveling and was a member of Daughters of American Revolution. She leaves her husband of 44 years, John L. Morris; a brother, Richard E. Brow of Stratham, NH; a nephew, Daniel Brow and his wife, Laura and their children, Conor and Nora of Keene, NH; an aunt, Irene Moore of Winchendon; and several cousins. MORRIS -- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 29th at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Steinbring, Michael J.  
Michael J. Steinbring former long time resident of Central, MA GILBERT, ARIZONA -- Michael J. Steinbring, 59, of Gilbert, Arizona (formerly a long time resident of Central Massachusetts) lost his battle with cancer on August 13th, 2015. He shared his life and last moments holding hands with his wife of 31 years, Lisa (Rivard) Steinbring. Born on September 11th, 1955 at Fort Devens, MA, Besides his wife Lisa, Michael leaves two sons: Jeremy & Justin Steinbring of Arizona. Michael was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd & Evelyn (Marien) Steinbring. Michael leaves closest family members including sister, Virginia Guertin of Fitchburg, MA, his brothers David Steinbring of Fitchburg and Lloyd Steinbring of New Zealand. Michael now re-joins his brother Scott Steinbring, sister Gail Steinbring, his brother-in-law Jim Guertin and his mother-in-law Elizabeth (Spelios) Rivard- who all predeceased him. Michael leaves extended family members including his father-in-law, Romeo Rivard of Worcester, brother & sister-in-law Richard & Joanne Rivard of Fitchburg, brother-in-law Dale Macleod of Shelburne Falls, sister-in-laws Michelle Rivard of Mesa, AZ, Robin Steinbring of Winchendon. As well as deep bonds with special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Michael graduated from St. Bernard's Central Catholic High School in 1974 and St. Joseph's College of ME in 1978. Michael dedicated his life to family and 30 years of work in human services specializing in care and the rights of those who could not advocate for themselves. He worked for MA Department of Mental Health, ARC of Central MA and State of MA as a Disability appeals reviewer in before moving to AZ eight years ago. In AZ he continued his service work for the State of AZ helping disabled children by reviewing their social security cases on appeal. LOCAL SERVICES: The family will receive guests for condolences during calling hours from 11 am -12:30 pm on Saturday, August 29th at the Double Tree by Hilton, Leominster, MA. Audet, Daniel J.  
Daniel J. Audet of Orange; 56 ORANGE -- Daniel J. Audet, 56, of Orange, died on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Athol Hospital. Born in Fitchburg on July 17, 1959, he was a son of the late Roland and Florence (Boudotte) Audet and grew up in Fitchburg, graduating from Montachusetts Regional Vocational Technical School in 1977. In 2003, he married Cynthia A. (Velho) and they have enjoyed their 12 years together. Dan had worked for Papa Gino's in a management capacity until having to retire in 2001 for health issues. He previously had worked as an auto mechanic including at Fitchburg Tire. Av avid gardener, Dan grew an abundance of tomatoes with plants reaching close to 8 feet high. He had also enjoyed fishing and coin collecting, as well as going to auctions with Cindy. Following his heart transplant in 2001, he joined a small support group and encouraged other transplant recipients during their recovery. Dan also had volunteered for the American Heart Association. Survivors include his beloved wife, Cynthia Audet of Orange; a son, Phillip Audet of Lewiston; Cindy's children, Donna Parker of West Springfield and Devin Parker of Turners Falls; a brother, Leonard Audet and his wife, Donna, of Winchendon; and several nephews and nieces. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Arlene Davis. AUDET -- A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 1-2 p.m. at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26th at Witty's Funeral Home in Orange with Pastor Mark Gagnon officiating. Interment will be private. Kathleen A.(Arsenault)Seguin Clark former longtime Fitchburg resident; 57 BERLIN -- Kathleen A. (Arsenault) Seguin Clark, 57 of Berlin, former longtime Fitchburg resident passed away peacefully in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home Worcester. Kathleen was born June 12, 1958 in Fitchburg daughter of Harvey and Nancy (Cournoyer) Arsenault. She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School, had been a member of St. Joseph Church, Fitchburg and a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She has been employed for the past 28 years as an Accounting Manager for Korolath of New England Inc. in Hudson. Kathleen leaves her husband Stephen Clark, her daughter Stephanie (Christine) Seguin of Fitchburg, two stepsons: Christopher Clark of Newton and Ryan Clark of Arlington, two sisters: Denise (Dennis) Vasko of Fitchburg and Holly (Joseph) Woods of Pepperell, her brother David (Beth) Arsenault of Templeton, four grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Kenneth Arsenault. CLARK -- A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 27th at 11:00am in St. Joseph Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. Desilets, Charleen "Cha"  
Charleen 'Cha' Desilets of Leominster; 68 LEOMINSTER -- Charleen 'Cha' Desilets, the 68 year old beloved sister of Dennis Desilets and his wife Margaret 'Mags' died peacefully on August 24, 2015, at her group home on Gamache Lane in Leominster. She also leaves behind her Aunts Fernande Desilets of Leominster, Jacqueline Mills of Brocton, MA and Beatrice Gaudet of Fitchburg, along with her niece Lisa Goodrich of Petersham and nephew Jay Desilets and his wife Urszula of Shrewsbury and their children Matt, Logan & Aidan. When Cha was born, the average lifespan for a person with Down Syndrone was 40, she paid that statistic no mind. At the age of 68 years of age she had lived in a group home for 9 years and had outlived her parents. She was born on Sept. 21, 1946 to Henry & Ella (Gaudet) Desilets and lived her life in Leominster. Cha enriched the lives of everyone she met. She lived a full and extraordinary life. She loved the time spent with her workshop family at the A.R.C. in Fitchburg where she went for over 35 years. She enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics, taking trips to Disney World, Graceland, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, a cruise to the Bahamas, trips to Old Orchard Beach, dancing at the A.R.C. sponsored dances and the ones held at the Franco American club. She loved watching Murder She Wrote, the big M (McDonald's), drinking coffee, diet Coke and Elvis. Her family wishes to thank her loving and caring staff at the A.R.C. and special friend Cheryl Robillard for their many years of dedication to her. The family also wishes to thank the staff (especially Kizito 'George' Lumanyika) at the group home, for their tremendous care, devotion and love that they gave to her when she required so much time and attention. And a very special thank you to the people from Health Alliance Hospice Care for all that they did to help Cha with her medical needs. DESILETS -- Calling hours will be held at Simard Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., Leominster, MA on Wednesday, Aug. 26 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Arlene C. Dupuis, 79 Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother LEOMINSTER -- Arlene C. (Plourde) Dupuis, 79, of Leominster, formerly of Fitchburg died peacefully in her home on Saturday August 22, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Joseph R. Dupuis who died in 2006. She was born January 15, 1936, a daughter of the late John W. and Caroline (Cyr) Plourde. She was employed by the former Comfort Slipper of Fitchburg for many years, and later employed by the Sterilite Corp. in Townsend. Arlene spent most of her time enjoying life with her family. She particularly enjoyed pulling practical jokes on her daughters. She loved playing cards and vacationing at Cape Cod. Arlene was a member of the former Church of the Good Shepherd in West Fitchburg, where she was actively involved in Marriage Encounter, Cursillo, Bible Study, and took up the position of cook and grandmother to many Sr. High Youth on Happening Retreat weekends. Arlene leaves a brother, Leon Plourde and his wife Nancy of Granby, CT. Six daughters, Pastor Donna M. Dunbar of Leominster, Diana St.Laurent and her husband Kenneth of Lunenburg, Darlene Dunn and her husband Robert of Fitchburg, Denise Jacob of Leominster, Darnelle Dupuis of Leominster, Dina Dufresne and her husband Joseph of Leominster. Nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. DUPUIS -- Relatives and friends are invited to New Life Church, 834 Main St., Leominster on Friday, August 28th for a visitation time from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. followed by a funeral service at 3:00 P.M. A committal service will follow at the Pieta Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, 486 Clarendon St., Fitchburg.
