FITCHBURG -- Arthur W. Testa, Sr., 73, of Fitchburg, died peacefully Wednesday, February 5, 2014, in UMass Medical Center in Worcester with family at his side.

Arthur was born in Fitchburg on November 16, 1940, a son of the late John and Irene (Percival) Testa.

He worked for the Anwelt Shoe and the E.B. King Company until his retirement in 1990. Arthur was a Red Sox and Patriots fan, and belonged to the Franco Club in Fitchburg. He was well known for always singing his favorite song, Bony Maroni, at parties.

He leaves his children, Arthur Testa, Jr., of Westminster, Michael Testa of Ashburnham, and Lisa Hamel of Fitchburg; siblings, Robert Testa of Fitchburg, Alfred Testa and wife, Christine of Fitchburg, Rita Dupuis and husband, Henry of Fitchburg, Donald Testa and wife, Joanne of Leominster, Richard Testa of Fitchburg, Jim Testa and wife, Fern of Fitchburg, Linda Hebert and husband, Mike of Fitchburg; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Arthur was predeceased by his sister, Anita in 2013, brother. John "Butch" in 2006, and his sister, Patricia in 1981.

TESTA -- A calling hour will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 1 PM - 2 PM. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM. Burial will be at a later date in Saint Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the , 55 W. Wacker Dr., Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
