LEOMINSTER -- Cheryl A. (Crawley) Carchidi, 53 years old, of Leominster, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 in her home after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband of 31 years A. Gregory Carchidi, mother Marylou E. Kurtz of Leominster, sons Gregory J. Carchidi and his wife Erin of Lancaster and Jonathan R. Carchidi of Leominster, daughter Lauren A. Carchidi of Leominster, brother John L. Crawley and his wife Lisa of Fitchburg, a nephew John M. Crawley, and two nieces, Katelyn S. Crawley, and Jillian L. Crawley.

Cheri was born in Leominster on January 25, 1960, daughter of Alton and Marylou E. (Tessier) Crawley and was a life long resident. She graduated from Leominster High School in 1978 and Fitchburg State College in 1982. Cheri had been a Special Education Teacher at the Lancaster Memorial School and the Mary Rowlandson Elementary School in Lancaster for 28 years. Cheri was dedicated to the teaching profession and the children in Lancaster. She enjoyed every day with the students and staff at the Mary Rowlandson elementary school. She was a devoted mother and wife, and especially loved the vacations and trips to Wells Beach, Maine with her family and friends. She was a member of the Crossfit EXP gym in Leominster. She attended Our Lady of the Lake Church in Leominster.

The family would like to thank all the Saddlebred Drive neighbors, friends, and relatives for their support over the past year. We also extend thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Leominster Health Alliance, and the Health Alliance Home Hospice.

CARCHIDI -- A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main Street, Leominster. Burial will be in St. Leo's Cemetery, Leominster, MA. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 4-8 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amy's Angels, C/O The Community Foundation, 285 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg, MA 01420, or the Mary Rowlandson School, 103 Hollywood Drive, Lancaster, MA, 01523.
