Clare R. (MacMillan) Poirier; 74
LUNENBURG -- Clare R. (MacMillan) Poirier, 74, a resident of Lunenburg for the past 45 years, died Friday, March 1, 2013, in Health Alliance Hospital, Leominster, after a long battle with congestive heart failure.
She leaves her husband of 44 years, Hector R. Poirier; two daughters, Michelle Y. Glass, and her husband, Adam, of Paxton, MA, and Grace E. Quinlan, and her husband, Barry, of Leominster; one brother, Peter T. MacMillan in NC; one sister, Mary Brochu, and her husband, Roger, of Westminster; three grandchildren, Liliana, Gabriella and Cecilia Glass, all of Paxton; her Godson, Michael Rindfleisch of Westford, MA; and several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Poirier was an Inventory Clerk at the former Independent Lock Co. until its closing, and then was employed as a Secretary for the Montachusett Opportunity Council Food Stamp Program, and later for Catholic Charities, retiring in 2005.
She was a member of St. Boniface Parish in Lunenburg, the ILCO Girls Club, and was a 1956 graduate of Leominster High School. She enjoyed bingo, going to the casinos, and socializing.
She was born in Leominster, MA, on December 29, 1938, a daughter of the late Louis F., and Grace E. (Rourke) MacMillan.
POIRIER -- Clare's Funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 5, from the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 763 Mass Ave., Lunenburg, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Boniface Church, 817 Mass. Ave., Lunenburg. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Lunenburg. Calling hours at the Funeral Home are on Tuesday, March 5 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
