ATHOL, MA -- Earl Legere, of Athol, Mass., passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, after a short illness at Oak Hill Hospital, Brooksville, FL.

Survived by his wife, Margaret of
66 years; two sons, Michael of Wirtz, Virginia, and James of Fitchburg, MA., three daughters, Peggy Therrien of North Port, FL, Elizabeth Luchford and Karen Kelley of Templeton, MA;
14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Don of Fitchburg, MA, Jack of N.B., Canada; sisters, Shirley Clements and Judy Bavis of N.B., Canada. Predeceased brothers, Douglas, Lloyd and William.

Born in Joggins Mine, Nova Scotia, Canada, April 29, 1925 to Dosity and Phoebe Legere (Bourgeois). Moved to N.B., Canada where he attended Moncton schools and St. Thomas College. Served in the Canadian Air Force 1943 - 1945. Earl and Marg settled in Fitchburg, MA in 1946. Worked at Simonds Saw and Steel for 40 years. Retired to Athol, MA. and Hudson, FL in 1988. He was involved in starting the golf league at Simonds, and played throughout his retirement years in Mass., Florida, and Canada.

LEGERE -- A memorial service will take place in Athol, MA. at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund, In care of OLI, 192 School Street, Athol, MA 01331.
