George A. Rollo

Retired Townsend businessman; 82

TOWNSEND -- George A. Rollo, 82, of Townsend, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at his residence after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Rita J. (Ledoux) Rollo; two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy G. and Patricia Rollo of Townsend, Brian A. and Kathie Rollo of Mason, NH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria L. and George Shattuck of Gardner, Susan M. and David Michaud of Townsend; a brother, Ira Rollo of Highgate, VT; a sister, Rita Hewitt of Dunstable; 9 grandchildren and
12 great-grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late Robert Rollo, Foster Rollo both of Vermont and Mildred Morse of Texas.

Mr. Rollo was born in Highgate, Vermont, April 29, 1930, a son of Arthur and Cora (Partlow) Rollo and grew up in Vermont. He resided several years in Lunenburg before moving to Townsend in 1962.

A Master Electrician, he owned and operated Rollo Electric Company in Townsend before retiring in 1990. He had also worked over five decades at Chandler Machine Company in Ayer where he retired as a plant manager
An avid gardener, he was known for always taking excellent care of the property surrounding his home. He also enjoyed woodworking and was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Townsend.

ROLLO -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, October 6th at St. John the Evangelist Church, 1 School Street, Townsend. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Townsend.
