SHIRLEY -- Ingeborg (Duchac) Sweeney, 77, of Shirley, died Friday, January 17, 2013, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Ayer. Her husband of 50 years, Bernard H. Sweeney, died September 20, 2010. Mrs. Sweeney was born in Germany, May 6, 1935, a daughter of Friedrich and Herta (Putze) Duchac and has resided in Shirley for over 40 years.
She was member of St. Anthony's Church in Shirley as well as a member of the Shirley Historical Society and Rug Hooking Club.
She leaves two sisters, Ruth Franke of Germany, Helga Rowe Kimball of Paris and Huntington Beach, CA; several nieces and nephews including Dagmar Franke Conrad, Carsten Franke both of Germany and Frederick Rowe of Berkley, CA.
Mrs. Sweeney worked for the United States Army as a translating secretary in Germany prior to her marriage to Bernard H. Sweeney.
SWEENEY -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Monday, January 28, 2013 at St. Anthony's Church, 14 Phoenix Street, Shirley. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keene, NH.
