LOVING BROTHER, HUSBAND,
DAD, and GRANDDAD
LEOMINSTER - James A. McNiff entered into his eternal life on Monday, October 28, 2013 surrounded by his family.
He was the son of the late William and Josephine McNiff, and was born in Manhattan, New York on September 6, 1943.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from Verizon Phone Company on August 1, 1998 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the and the Irish American Club.
He was a beloved brother to his sisters, Sheila and Eileen and a wonderful husband for 46 years to his wife Irene (Nelson) McNiff. His children, Billy and his wife Erin, Jimmy and his wife Jeanne, and Sean and his wife April were very much a part of his life, and of course, his grandchildren; Meaghan, Elizabeth, Liam, Dylan, Jessica, Michael, Kayla, Chase, Bowen, Caelan, and Scarlett who brought so much happiness and joy to his life.
He was predeceased by two of his sisters, Maureen and Elizabeth, and two brothers, JohnJoe and Billy.
McNIFF - The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Thursday, October 31, with a Mass in Saint Leo's Church, Leominster at 12:00 Noon. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 30, from 4-7 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made in Jimmy's name to the Saint Leo's Building Fund, 108 Main Street, Leominster, MA 01453.
