SOUTH DENNIS -- James "Bob" McQuade, died suddenly on Saturday, October 19, 2013.

He was born in East Highgate, VT, son of James J. and Clara McQuade and his birth mother, Ada Rice McQuade, and lived most of his life in Leominster, MA before retiring to Dennis, MA in 1983.

Bob was a graduate of Lawrence Academy and Mt. Wachusett Community College earning an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice.

He was a police officer serving on the Leominster Police Dept. for 25 years before his retirement in 1983.

Bob also served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp., as well as tours in the U.S. Navy and the US Air Force.

He was a Life Member of the Leominster Lodge of Elks, and a former member at the Dennis Pines and Dennis Highlands Country Clubs.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Angelina "Angie" McQuade of South Dennis, his sons, Michael and his wife, Linda of Leominster, and Robert and wife, Linda of Leominster; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

At "Big Bob's" request, cremation will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours or services.
