FITCHBURG -- Jemma (Scaramuzzi) Bishop, 90, formerly of Leominster and living at the Highlands, Fitchburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
She was born on May 2, 1923, in Leominster, a daughter of the late Pasquale and Antonette (Carabba) Scaramuzzi. Jemma was married to the late Salvatore Sciabarrasi, who died in 1949 and later to the late Raymond Bishop, who died in 2004.
Jemma leaves two sons, Richard Sciabarrasi and wife, Beverly of Leominster, Dennis Sciabarrasi and wife, Carol of Lunenburg; one daughter, Karen Hardern and husband, Walter of Gardner; six grandchildren, Rick Sciabarrasi, Christine Sciabarrasi, Matthew Sciabarrasi, Amy McGowan, Mark Farrow, and Patrick Farrow; seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves her brothers, Michael Scaramuzzi and Vincent Scaramuzzi of Leominster; three sisters, Lina Ricci of Worcester, Ophelia Penzabene of Florida, and Antoinette Livieratos of Agawam.
She was a member of St. Anna's Parish and the Leominster Senior Center. Jemma retired from K-Mart.
BISHOP -- At her request, Jemma's funeral and burial will be private in St. Leo's Cemetery. Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the
