Lifelong resident of Fitchburg, Air Force Vet
FITCHBURG -- John Johnson was a resident of Fitchburg all his life. He died on November 27, 2013 unexpectedly.
He is survived by his wife, Irodell Johnson of 55 years, and his two sons, John and Frank.
He served in the Air Force for eight years before moving back to Fitchburg.
He worked for the post office in Worcester and then retired to spend more time with his family. He worked part time at Victory's and then for the Sentinel and Enterprise delivering papers. He volunteered in the community bringing food to be distributed to those in need. He also spent a great deal of time at the Fitchburg Senior Center, and playing Bingo. He was an avid lover of the Red Sox and was always willing to talk about sports. He loved to eat black toast and made the world's best spaghetti and meatballs. While he was usually quiet, he loved having his six grandchildren, Brandon, Kelly, Crystal, Nick, Violet and Jack and three great-grandchildren; Seamus, Oshen, and Zachary around to play with.
JOHNSON -- A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, 132 Woodland St., Fitchburg MA. There are no calling hours.
