LUNENBURG -- Joseph U. Williams of Lunenburg died June 4, 2013 at Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster. He was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada December 27,1930 son of the late Edward and Margaret (Bastarache) Williams. He spent his early life in Moncton before coming to the United States at age 16. He was a veteran of the United States Army Serving during the Korean Conflict.

Employed as a Technician in the Heating and Cooling industry working for several companies in the area. A resident of Leominster for a short time he had most recently lived in Lunenburg for the past 50 years. Mr. Williams was a parishioner of St. Boniface Church in Lunenburg and was a member of the AMVETS of Fitchburg. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing at his camp in New Brunswick, as well as bowling. Some of his other interests were following the Red Sox and Bruins.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Bernice (Bourgeois) Williams, a daughter Bonnie E. Ditoro and son Gary R. Williams all of Lunenburg. Also survived 5 siblings Armand Williams of Shrewsbury, Imelda Leger of Lunenburg, Geannita Beliveau of Florida, Camille Williams and Paul Williams both of New Brunswick. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 2 great- grandchildren.

WILLIAMS -- of Lunenburg, June 4, 2012 Joseph U. Williams. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 am Saturday June 15, 2013 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 817 Massachusetts Ave., Lunenburg.
