LUNENBURG -- Kenneth Goodell, died Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Highlands in Fitchburg, after an illness.
Husband of the late, Barbara (Kruck) Goodell, who died in 1978.
Kenneth leaves his wife, Pauline (Morency) Lemay Goodell, of the Gables in Fitchburg, one daughter Wendy Goodell of CA, a step-daughter, Carol McCarter of Ashby, a step-son Christopher Lemay of Leominster, one sister, Nancy G. Reed of Lunenburg, six grandchildren, Mason Higgins-Goodell and Brody Higgins Goodell both of CA, Jonathan Lemay of CA, Melinda Lemay Dempsey, and Heather Grahm both of Ashby, and Jason McCarter, of Milford, NH, 2 great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was born in Stoneham, on July 22, 1928, a son of the late David H. and Grace (Hebard) Goodell. He moved to Lunenburg in 1938, and graduated from Lunenburg High School, the class of 1946. Kenneth was a call fireman
in Lunenburg, since he was in High School. He worked at Goodell Ford and Leominster Motor Sales, from 1949 - 1982 and was the Owner and President, until his retirement. He served in the Massachusetts National Guard, the 181st Infantry company H. He was an active member and the past board member of the Leominster Chamber of Commerce, a past president and member of the Leominster Rotary Club
. He was an avid Golfer and member of the Oak Hill Country Club and the Palm Aire Country Club in Sarasota, FL. He and Pauline had lived in Sarasota for many years, and he loved to spend summers in Harpswell, ME, were he enjoyed sailing.
