TOWNSEND -- Laurette S. (Corbin) Bolden 85, a resident of Main Street for nearly sixty years, died Monday, January 28, 2013, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center, Marlboro.

Her husband of 64 years, Raymond P. Bolden died in July 2007.

Mrs. Bolden was born in Hamlin, Maine, July 11, 1927, a daughter of Leo and Emily (Roy) Corbin and moved to Townsend in 1955.

For ten years Mrs. Bolden worked as the School crossing guard near Spaulding Memorial School in Townsend, retiring in 1972. She was a member of St. John's Church in Townsend. She enjoyed camping, sewing, playing her guitar, listening to country music and most of all was a wonderful friend and devoted mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Bolden leaves her son, Julian P. Bolden of Salem, NY; two daughters, Elaine L. Bolden Doak of Ellington, CT, Lauray E. Russell of Townsend; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Bolden of Townsend in 1972 and by her sister, Jeannette Picard of Maine.
