Leon J. Boucher, 80
FITCHBURG -- Leon Joseph Boucher, 80, of Fitchburg, died Saturday evening, April 6, in the Highlands surrounded by his family.
He was born in Richibucto Village, New Brunswick, Canada, on Aug. 22, 1932, a son of the late Alphonse and Azelma (Allain) Boucher and came to this country at the age of 20.
Leon served in the United States Navy
from 1960 to 1962 when he was honorably discharged with the rank of Fireman, Machinery Repairman Striker.
He worked for over 40 years as a machinist at the Rand Whitney Company. He was a member the former Immaculate Conception Parish in Fitchburg and a current member of St. Anna's Parish in Leominster. Leon was a car fanatic and loved the ocean.
He leaves two daughters, Donna Cardinal and her husband Jim of Leominster and Lisa Belmain and her husband Mark of Sterling; two sons, Jamie Boucher of Auburn and Randy Boucher and his wife Jill of Monterey, CA; two brothers Acquilla Boucher and his wife Doris of Fitchburg and Bernard Boucher and his wife Faye of Port Charlotte, FL; two sisters, Geneva Johnson of Bouctouche, New Brunswick and Cecile Allain and her husband Jean-Paul of North Oxford; eight grandchildren, Sara, Elizabeth, Jacob, Michael, Joey, Leah, Domenic and Stella. He is predeceased by his wife, Norma (LeBlanc) Boucher who died in 2010; two brothers, Adelin Boucher and Henri Boucher and two sisters Marie Boucher and Valeda Johnson.
BOUCHER -- His funeral will be held on Friday, April 12, from the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Anna's Church, 199 Lancaster St., Leominster. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 6 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the U.S.O. -- New England, 427 Commercial St., Boston, MA 02109.
