LEOMINSTER -- Louis DiReda, 84, of Leominster, died on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, in Life Care Center of Leominster.

He was born on November 10, 1927, in Worcester, MA, was the son of Frank and Anna (Ippolito) DiReda. Mr. DiReda was a United States Air Force Veteran of WWII, having attained the rank of Corporal, and earning the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Army of Occupation Medal with German Clasp.

He worked as a driver for Hertz Rent A Car before retiring. Louis was also an accomplished artist and pianist.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Muriel "Jean" (Rose) DiReda of Leominster; a step son, Richard Willoughby of California; a brother, Thomas DiReda and his wife, Sandra of Florida; his beloved granddaughters, Patricia Williams and her husband, Don, and Catherine Harney, all of Maui, Hawaii, his precious great-granddaughters, Stephanie Keesling, Amanda Wheeler and her boyfriend, Anthony Vadla, Brooke Furlow, Cassandra Rech, and Sebastian Love; two nephews Thomas DiReda of Worcester and Michael DiReda and his wife, Joan of Fitchburg and their children, Angelina and Dominic.

DiREDA -- Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West St., Leominster. Burial with Military Honors will be at the convenience of the family in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA.
