TOWNSEND -- Marie A. A. "Amy" (Sevigny) Collins, 77, of Townsend, passed Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Emerson Hospital, Concord.

Her husband of 52 years, Robert A. Collins, died in August 2004.

Mrs. Collins was born in Fitchburg, October 13, 1935, a daughter of Leo and Margaret (Desrosier) Sevigny and resided most of her life in Townsend. She attended Spaulding Memorial School in Townsend and then continued her education at Stevens Business College in Fitchburg.

For 15 years Amy had worked as the Treasurer of the Town of Townsend retiring in 1995. Previously, she had worked at New England Business Service Company in both Townsend and Groton.

She was an active member of St. John's Church in Townsend where she served as a CCD teacher, was a member of bazaar committee as well as a member of the ladies Sodality. She was a member and former treasurer of the Democratic Town Committee, and was a member and former chairperson to the Town of Townsend Board of Registrars.

She leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Robert B. and Nim Collins of Townsend; three daughters; Ruth C. Graves and her husband, Paul, Nanette M. Sullivan and her husband Paul, all of Greenville, TX, Caroline A. Collins of Ashby; two sisters, Doris Allen of Fitchburg, Charlotte Taylor of Florida, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Norman Sevigny and Suzanne Maynard both of Fitchburg.

COLLINS -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 Am Thursday, January 17th at St. John's Church, 1 School Street, Townsend. Everyone is requested to please meet at church.
