Loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt
FITCHBURG -- Marion B. (Freeman) Marion, 78, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 16, 2012 at UMASS Memorial Healthcare in Worcester, MA, after struggling with multiple health issues for several years.
She was born on July 26, 1933 in Fitchburg, the daughter of Annie (Perry) and Ernest Freeman and lived her life in Fitchburg. Marion was one of eight children.
She leaves behind a brother, Roger Freeman and wife, Donna of Leominster, MA; and sisters, Nancy Huckins and husband, John of Chesterfield, MA, and Alice Freeman of Barre, MA.
She is predeceased by brothers, Ernest Freeman, William Freeman and Bert (Eddie) Freeman, as well as sister, Evelyn (Blueyes) Partridge.
Marion was married to Leonard Marion Jr. for 39 years prior to his passing on December 9, 1994.
She was the proud mother of five children, three of which remain, Linda Wheeler of Fitchburg, Betty Ann Marion and significant other, Garry Mobley Sr., of Fitchburg, and Robin Brennan of Leominster.
She is predeceased by sons, Leonard Marion III, and William Ernest Marion, and son-in-law Alan Wheeler Sr.
Marion was a loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren, Alan Wheeler Jr., Kelly Wheeler, Scott Wheeler, Maegan Wheeler, Raegan Wheeler, Tiffany Lopez, Garry Mobley Jr., James Brown, Larissa Brennan, Randilee Pearl, Jason Velasquez, Sean Marion and Michael Brand.
She also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren.
Marion was predeceased by great-grandchild, Ja'Leeah Holloway.
She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Marion was a dedicated family person who spent her life taking care of others. She was an at home Mom first raising her children and then raising her granddaughter, Tiffany. She was always willing to help someone out but was never afraid to tell it like it was. She enjoyed watching talk shows, court television, listening to country music and reading the newspaper to stay up to date on current events. She was a regular at the Davita Dialysis Clinic, and enjoyed spending time with the other patients and especially with tech Laurie.
She was loved by all and will be missed by those who knew her.
