Mary A. (Saladini) Rich


FITCHBURG -- Mary A. (Saladini) Rich, 87, died Monday, November 12, 2012, after an illness.

She was the wife of the late Gordon E. Rich who died in 1982.

She leaves one daughter, Alida L. Rich of Fitchburg; and nieces and nephews, Joseph "Jay" Saladini of Leominster, Linda Burke and her husband, Bill of Fitchburg, Lisa Saladini of Watertown, Martha Skelton and her husband, Ken of KY, Cheryle Hall and her husband, Marlin of WV, Jack Saladini and his wife, Kristine of DE, Bill Saladini and his wife, Nancy of Fitchburg, and Myron Jokinen and his wife, Carol of Clinton; a special niece and caregiver, Kris Burke of Fitchburg; several great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by a daughter, Lynne S. (Sue) Gowdy who died September 6, 2002, and three brothers, Joseph Saladini, William Saladini, and John Saladini.

Mary was born in Leominster on November 15, 1924, a daughter of the late Luigi and Maria (DeAmicis) Saladini.

She worked at Grants as a clerk in Leominster, and also worked in Quality Control at Foster Grant in Leominster.

She loved traveling all over the country while her husband was in the Service. She had lived in Leominster, and enjoyed living in Lehigh Acres, Florida for many years with her family before moving to Fitchburg.

Mary's family would like to say a Special Thank You, to the wonderful staff at the Highlands, Hospice, and Dr. Radhakrishan.

RICH -- Funeral Services and Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Mary's name to either the Simonds-Sinon Regional Cancer Center, 275 Nichols Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420 or the Pat Brody Shelter for Cats, P.O. Box 142, Lunenburg, MA 01462.
