SUNDERLAND, MA -- Mary Jo (McManus) Barrington, passed away Tuesday, June 24th, 2014, at home with her loving family by her side.
She was born March 29th, 1969 in Groton, MA, the daughter of Barry McManus and Catherine (Morrissey) Fix.
Mary Jo attended Westminster Elementary School and was a 1987 graduate of Oakmont Regional High School in Ashburnham. Afterwards, she also attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
Mary Jo spent her entire working career at the Pioneer Valley Growers Association in Whately. She enjoyed her position as General Manager and was always there to help the farmers in any way possible. Mary Jo took great pride in her job and always put her heart into her work. She will be sadly missed by all there.
Above all, Mary Jo's greatest passion in life was her children: Billy, Nicky, Ashley and Timmy. She could always be found in the audience cheering them on whether it be a sporting event or concert.
She always tried to make every moment special whether it be a trip to the beach, vacations to Myrtle Beach, day trips to Boston or just time in the back yard. She so very much loved her family and always put her children first and foremost.
Mary Jo will always be remembered for her warm smile and gracious nature. She touched the lives of all that she met and left an impression that won't soon be forgotten.
Mary Jo leaves behind her loving husband, Bill and their children, Billy, Nicky, Ashley and Timmy all at home. She also leaves her mother, Catherine and step father, David Fix of Westminster, her father, Barry McManus and his wife, Judy Lano of Surfside Beach, SC; her sisters, Beth McManus and her husband, Keith Senecal of Ashburnham, Courtney Fahlbeck and her husband, Mark of Gardner, Becky Connors and her husband, Sean of Westminster. She also leaves a brother, David Fix II of Tucson, AZ; her brothers-in- law, Glenn Barrington and his wife, Liz of Belchertown, Scott Barrington and his wife, Malia of Restals Gap, VA,and Jim Barrington and his wife, Tracey of Agawam; along with many nieces and nephews.
BARRINGTON -- Calling hours are Sunday from 4 - 7 PM at the Wrisley Funeral Home, Sugarloaf Street, South Deerfield. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 9:15 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Church, South Deerfield. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Sunderland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Barrington Children Scholarship fund at the Greenfield Cooperative Bank in Sunderland.
