LUNENBURG, MA -- Michael J. Granese 62, of Lunenburg, MA., and formerly of Lynn, MA. passed away on January 21, 2013 in his home.
He was born on December 5,1950 the son of the late Anthony James Granese and Rose C. (Guay) Granese Devine. He was the oldest son of seven children. He leaves his mother Rose C. (Guay) Granese Devine of Lynn, MA., two brothers, James Granese of Windham Maine, and Joseph Granese and his wife Lynn of Lynn, MA., his sisters, Jean Conlon and her husband Dennis of Sierra Arizona, Judith Granese of Lynn, MA., and Jennifer Pipes of Arundel, Maine and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Janice Shire of Lynn, MA.
Michael was raised in Lynn, MA., and was a graduate of Lynn English High School.
He worked as a carpenter for several years in Salem and Middleton, MA. In the early 1980's he moved to Lunenburg, MA. Mike was a loyal employee at A to Z Vending for the past 23 years where his skills, wisdom, and personality were irreplaceable. Mike appreciated a delicious meal, a good laugh and great music. Mike was the self proclaimed "Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla". His passion for music was unmatched. His knowledge, humor, and friendship will be forever missed by all who knew him.
GRANESE -- A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday March 2, 2013 at 11:30a.m. in The Lavery Chartrand & Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, MA. All are welcome to attend. Afterwards, a gathering for all who attend will be held at Donnelly's Tavern, 43 Summer St., Lunenburg, MA. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Pat Brody Shelter, P.O.
