BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Patricia A. Murray, age 70, of Biddeford, Maine, passed away November 12, 2013, at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, Maine.
She was born in Belmont, Massachusetts, September 18, 1943, the daughter of George and Marjorie Morash Roberts.
She attended the Belmont school system, and later graduated from Belmont High School. She then graduated from Framingham State Teachers
College. She was a 5th and 6th grade math and science school teacher for many years in Hartford, Conn., Chelmsford, MA, and then in the North Middlesex Regional School District, in Pepperell, MA. She also worked to create a children's theatre program at the school, and worked together with staff and teachers to create other progressive programs for their students.
She and her family built a house in Biddeford, Maine in 1989, and retired there in 2003. She enjoyed camping and kayaking, and raised Siberian Husky AKC Champions for over 40 years.
She was a member of the Yankee Siberian Husky Club and former member of the Merrimac Valley All breed Kennel Club and the AKC.
She is predeceased by her sister, Frances and brother-in-law, Joseph Lanza.
She is survived by her husband William of 43 years of marriage of Biddeford Maine; a son, J. Tyler Murray and his companion, Phyllis Winch of Derry, NH; a daughter, Catherine Murray Stano and her husband, David of Saratoga Springs, NY; a brother, George Roberts of Weston, MA; two grandchildren, Michaela and Christina Murray; her cousins, Theodore MacLoud and his wife, Carol, of Ormond Beach Fl., Scott MacLeod of Orlando FL; her sisters-in-law, Sylvia Garret of Portland, Maine, and Susan Farrar and her husband, Bert of Brownville Jct., Maine.
MURRAY -- Friends and relatives may call Saturday, November 16, 10-11 A.M. at the Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco. An 11 A.M. service will follow immediately at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Central Cemetery, corner of Main and Westford Streets, Dunstable, MA at 2:00 P.M. with a graveside service.
