LEOMINSTER -- Pauline "Polly" A. (Mahoney) Curran, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 16, surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves her husband of 63 years, Paul "Buddy" D. Curran, three sons, David P. Curran, and his wife, Margaret of Gardner, MA, Thomas F. Curran of Leominster, and his companion, Genevieve Nass of Lunenburg, Michael J. Curran, and his wife, Nora of Manchester, NH; one daughter, Patricia A. Curran of Westminster, MA; 10 grandchildren, Anthony and Michael Giambrocco and Patrick, Thomas, Daniel, David, Erin, Sean, Sara and Timothy Curran; three
great-grandchildren, Polly, Dorothy, and Paul Curran; a brother-in-law, Frank Barry of Reading, MA; and many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Thomas Mahoney, and three sisters, Jane Barry, Mary Gardiner and Margie Slein.
Polly was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was an active volunteer at several community organizations, including the Leominster Hospital Guild, Our Lady of the Lake Parish and its' Ladies Guild and the American Heart Association. She was a 1943 graduate of the former Commerce High School in Worcester, MA.
Above all, Polly was devoted to and enjoyed her family, and she will be deeply missed. She was a gentle soul who touched the hearts of all of those who knew her.
Pauline was born in Worcester, MA, on June 6, 1925, a daughter of the late Thomas F., and Jane (Taylor) Mahoney.
CURRAN -- Her Funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 22, from the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli and Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 243 Water St., Fitchburg, with a Mass 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church, 1400 Main St., Leominster, MA. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg. There will be no calling hours at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to
