WESTMINSTER -- Philip J. Rivers, Jr. 56, died suddenly, Friday, May 3, 2013, at Leominster Hospital after a short illness.

He leaves his wife, Judy A. (Streeter) Rivers, one son, Philip (PJ) J. Rivers, III, of Westminster, two daughters, Jennifer Goguen, and her husband Todd, of Gardner, and Stephanie Rivers, of Westminster, one sister, Dale Duval, of Fitchburg, his niece, and Goddaughter, Christine Fernstrom, of Fitchburg, and several other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

He is predeceased by a nephew, Doug (DJ) Duval who died in 2011.

Philip was born in Fitchburg on February 7, 1957, a son of the late, Philip J. Sr., and Lucille J. (Simard) Rivers. He grew up in Fitchburg and was a 1975 Graduate of Fitchburg High School. He worked at the former Leominster Beverage House, Rand Whitney, Inc. in Leominster, and as a Glass Grinder for Optometrics, USA in Ayer until his retirement. He was a member of the Leominster Sportsmen's Club; he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his father. He loved the outdoors, going to the beach and the mountains with his family. He was a fun loving man with a great love for his family and pets.

RIVERS -- A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., in the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA 01473.

A Calling Hour will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Funeral.

Burial will be Private at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg.
