LUNENBURG -- Ralph Howe, 78, of Lunenburg, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013, in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
Ralph was born in Fitchburg on October 21, 1934, a son of the late Stanley Howe Sr. and Mary (Vergari). He attended Fitchburg Schools, and went on to work for the former Crocker, Weyerhaeuser, and James River Paper Company for 38 years.
In his spare time, Ralph loved gardening and caring for his lawn and backyard. He also enjoyed fishing.
Ralph leaves his loving wife of 36 years, Margaret "Peggy" Howe of Lunenburg; sons, Dana Valcourt and his wife, Heather of North Carolina, Richard Howe of Fitchburg; daughters, Darlene Parent and her husband, Jean Marie of Leominster; grandchildren, Travis, Derek, Nick, Erin, Ashley, Keith, Danny, Jennifer, and Steven; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kayley; brothers, Stanley Howe Jr. and his wife, Nancy of Fitchburg, Domenic Howe and his wife, Ann of Fitchburg; sisters, Virginia Gaudet of Fitchburg, Olga Julius and her husband, James of Fitchburg; many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his loving neighbors, Jack, Patty, and Carolann Pichnarcik.
He was predeceased by his son, Ralph Howe Jr., and his two grandsons, Bradford and Jeffrey.
HOWE -- A Memorial Service will be held in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg, on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the Pediatric Oncology Clinic at Tufts Floating Hospital for Children in the Memory of Mark S. Pichnarcik, 800 Washington St., Boston, MA 02111.
