Rita M. (Andrews) Gauthier

of Leominster, St. Leo Church member; 96

LEOMINSTER -- Rita M. (Andrews) Gauthier, 96, died peacefully on October 2, 2012, in Sterling Village with her loving family at her side.

She was born on August 20, 1916 in Leominster, the daughter of John and Mary (Hart) Andrews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl H. Gauthier.

She worked as a sales clerk at many retail stores including W.T. Grant, Sage Allen, Allens department store, and RH Whites, and also worked as a Bank Teller at Merchants National Bank. She was a lifelong member of St. Leo's Parish in Leominster.

She leaves one son, Edmund and his wife, Diane (Gendron) Gauthier of Leominster; and one daughter, Nancy Gauthier of Leominster. She was predeceased by a daughter, Linda (Gauthier) McHugh. Mrs. Gauthier also leaves a sister, Grace Kearney of Leominster; and a brother, Richard Andrews of Texas; her grandchildren, Scott and Michelle Gauthier, Meghan and her husband, William Panteleakos, and Amber McHugh; step grandchildren, Marcy and her husband, David Lomme, and Brian and his wife, Kristin Andreis; step great-grandchildren, Christopher and Chelsea Lomme, and Jacob Andreis; many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Madeline Spacciapoli, Beatrice Burns, Arlene Brooks, Eleanor Terwiske, Barbara Mavente, Leo Andrews, George Andrews, Charles Andrews, and Francis Andrews. She was also predeceased by one brother and three sisters who died as infants.

GAUTHIER -- Her Funeral will be held on Monday (October 8) from THE CURLEY MARCHAND FUNERAL HOME, 89 West St., Leominster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Leo's Church, 108 Main St. Leominster. Burial will follow in St. Leo's Cemetery. Calling Hours at the Funeral Home will be on Sunday from 4-7 PM, and Monday from 9:00 to 9:30 AM. Donations may be made in her memory to: The St. Leo's St. Vincent de Paul Society, 108 Main St., Leominster, MA 01453 or to The Sterling Village Activity Fund, 18 Dana Hill Rd., Sterling, MA 01564, and may be left at the Funeral Home.
