SHIRLEY -- Robert D. Gonynor, 90, died Sunday, April 20, at the Nashoba Valley Medical Center, after a sudden illness.

He was the husband of the late Sebastina "Betsy" (Peppe) Gonynor, who died in 1998.

He leaves four sons, Joseph Gonynor of Shirley, Gary Gonynor of AR, Robert Gonynor II, of FL, and Kris Gonynor of FL, one sister, Gail Spagnola of AZ, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was born in Fitchburg on July 28, 1923, a son of the late Francis Henry and Helen (McDonald) Gonynor. He served in the Army Air Corps, during WW II. He owned and operated several businesses, including Trailer Home Services. He was member of over 50 years to the Aurora Lodge of Masons in Fitchburg; he was a past master of the former St. Paul Lodge of Ayer. He was a member of the York Rite of Masons, the Scottish Rite of Masons, and a member of the Schriners Mounted Patrol, the Odd Fellows in Pepperell, and past commander of the American Legion Post 139, in Ayer.

GONYNOR -- His Funeral will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lunenburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 763 Mass Avenue, Lunenburg, MA.

Burial with Military Honors will follow in the South Cemetery, Lunenburg, MA.

A calling hour will be held in the Funeral Home, from 9:30 -11:00 a.m.
