Roger J. Malouin of Leominster, loved country music; Vet; 83 -- LEOMINSTER -- Roger J. Malouin, of Leominster, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 6, 2013, after a struggle with cancer. Born in Fitchburg on September 10, 1929, Roger was one of 15 children born to Phillip and Juliette (Robillard) Malouin. Roger served in the Army
in 1951 during the Korean War
for a brief period before being released honorably due to medical issues. Among his places of employment, Roger worked for Charlton Furniture, and then moved on to Webber Lumber where he worked for 25 years along with his brother, Edgar Malouin. He retired in 1989. Roger was always considered a very hard worker and created a very happy life for himself. He was proud of the life he built; his home, his cars, and many road trips to name a few. Many people knew Roger as the "man with the cowboy hat", and knew of his love for country music. He leaves three brothers, Rene, Omer and Gerard Malouin; and two sisters, Madeleine Julius and Theresa Miller. Roger also leaves several nieces and nephews who adored him and were a constant in his life. Gone before him are sisters, Albina McGuire, Juliette Bennett, Delisca Malouin, and brothers, Edgar, Phillip, Albert, Joseph, Lawrence and Raymond Malouin. MALOUIN -- Honoring the wishes of Roger, burial will be private at a time that is yet to be determined; there are no calling hours.
