Shirley (Flagg) Haystrand

lifelong Fitchburg Resident

FITCHBURG -- Shirley (Flagg) Haystrand 77, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Fitchburg after an illness.

She leaves her five children, Beverly MacDonald of Townsend, Ester Kirouac and Michael Toma of Ashburnham, John Haystand of NY, Daniel and his wife, Julie of Leominster, and Jamie Savage and her husband, Kenneth of Fitchburg, many grandchildren and nieces and nephews, and a good friend, Jackie Heikkala. Also all of her friends at Wallace Tower.

She is predeceased by two brothers, Chester Flagg, and Russell Flagg, and a sister, Beverly Flagg.

She was born in Fitchburg, September 28, 1935 a daughter of the late Chester and Helen (Lamore) Flagg. She worked for Micron Products in quality control. As a young woman she worked at the former Hotel Raymond for several years. She loved decorating and gardening. Family and Friends were her life.

HAYSTRAND -- A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery, 115 Mt. Elam Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420. Followed by a gathering at 171 Willard Road, Ashburnham, MA 01430, The family suggests using Rt. 12 as a way to get to Willard Road. The Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli and the Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 243 Water Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420 is assisting the Family with Funeral Arrangements.
