Shizuko R. Andersen, 92

TOWNSEND -- Shizuko R. "Suzie" (Yamamoto) Andersen, 92, of Townsend, died Saturday, June 21, in the Leominster Hospital.

Mrs. Andersen was born in Wakayama, Japan on July 15, 1921, a daughter of the late Gisaburo and Ayame (Yamashita) Yamamoto and came to this country in 1957 before settling in Townsend in 1963.

Her husband, Adolph B. Andersen died in 1979. She leaves two sons, Raymor A. Andersen and his wife Diane of Elizabeth City, NC and Steven L. Andersen and his wife Colleen of Townsend; a daughter, Paula S. Kimplen of Punta Gorda, FL; five grandchildren, Luthyr Andersen, Phillip Andersen, Stephanie Dunbar, Veronica Riegel and Bathsheba Popovich and seven great-grandchildren.

Prior to her retirement several years ago, Suzie worked as a molder at several area plastic companies. She had a passion for traveling and loved spending time with family whom she was affectionately known by everyone as "Gramma".

ANDERSEN -- A private graveside service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery in Townsend and a later date. There are no calling hours. The T.J. Anderson Funeral Home, 250 Main St., is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements. Please see www.andersonfuneral.com for additional information.
