Thomas J. Judy
of Leominster, Air Force Vet; 89
LEOMINSTER -- Thomas J. Judy, 89 years old of Leominster, an Air Force Veteran, died Thursday, December 27, 2012, in the Keystone Center in Leominster, after a lengthy illness.
Tom was born February 16, 1923 in Fairmont, West Virginia, the youngest son of Samuel and Stella (Janes) Judy. He graduated from Fairmont High School and attended Fairmont State College before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force
and serving as a pilot in World War II
Tom was employed with Bryant Heating in Rhode Island, before joining Wachusett Gas in Leominster as District Manager. After merger of the gas and electric, Tom became the Manager of Mass Electric in Leominster and later District Manager in Worcester. He retired in 1988 with 32 years of service.
He had served on the board of directors at various banks, the board of trustees for the Red Cross and Leominster Hospital. Tom also was a member of the Leominster Rotary Club
and a Paul Harris Fellow. Tom took delight in planting and caring for the gardens at Washington Square as one of his Rotary projects.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Joan E. (Fleming) Judy; his daughter, Carol Bruzzi and her partner, Kirk of Arizona; stepson, W. Scott Freeman and his wife, Teresa of Stonewall, NC; stepdaughters, Tracy E. Freeman and her fiancé, David of Epson, NH, and Toni L. Davis of Leominster; brother, Clyde Judy of Fairmont, WV; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers, George and Robert Judy.
JUDY -- There will be no calling hours at Tom's request and funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster.
