Vincent J. Murray, 76
FITCHBURG -- Vincent J. Murray, 76, a resident of Fitchburg since 1978, died Monday, March 17, in his home, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family.
His first wife of 23 years, Joan B. (Bullion) Murray, died in 1983. His second wife of 17 years, Nancy L. (Grant) Murray, died in 1999.
He leaves three sons, Bryan R. Bullion and his wife, Patricia of Fitchburg, Vincent W. Murray, and his companion, Lisa Stencel of Redhook, NY, and Richard A. Murray, and his wife, Pauline of Utica, NY; two daughters, Darlene A. Donahue, and her husband David, and Kim M. Murray, with whom he lived, both of Fitchburg; one brother, Walter Murray of Clearwater, FL and one sister, Anne Collins of Long Island, NY; seven grandchildren, Myndee Cloutier, and her husband Justin of Jaffrey, NH, Michael and Matthew Donahue both of Fitchburg, Brandon Bullion of Oklahoma City, OK, Emma and Trey Murray of Utica, NY and Cody Stencil of Redhook, NY; one great-grandson, Jonathan Cloutier of Jaffrey, NH; a sister-in-law, Margaret Murray, of Stormville, NY; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William 'Bill" Murray in 1974 and a sister, Mary Lanahan in 2003.
Vincent was employed by the Ideal Tape Company, as a Supervisor for 17 years, retiring in 1999.
He attended High School in the Bronx, NY, and enjoyed camping, cooking and the culinary arts, and was a big fan of hockey and the Boston Bruins.
He was a Veteran
of the U.S. Marines, serving at the Rank of Sergeant, and a longtime member of the Marine Corp League.
He was born in the Bronx, NY, on May 19, 1937, a son of the late William and Mary (Dunn) Murray. He was brought up by his late stepfather, Patrick Doheny, after his father died at a very young age.
MURRAY -- Vincent's Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, March 22, at 10:00 a.m. in the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli and Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 243 Water St., Fitchburg.
Burial, with full Military Honors, will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg.
Calling hours at the Funeral Home are on Friday, March 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.
