FITCHBURG -- Walter C. Duval Jr., 71, of Fitchburg, died January 23, 2013, at his residence
Mr. Duval was born in Fitchburg, December 23, 1941, the son of Walter and Bertha (Arsenault) Duval and was a lifelong Fitchburg resident.

He leaves his son, Steven M. Duval of Westminster; his daughter and son-in-law, Sherri M. and Peter Toomey of Westminster; two sisters, Jeannette F. Palmi of Fitchburg, Gloria T. Vitelli of Lunenburg; three grandchildren, Jamie Bourgault, Ashley Bourgault, Michael Bourgault; four great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Godfrey, Sophia Bourgault, Erion Bourgault, Endri Bourgault.

In 1988, he was predeceased by a sister, Claire Chartier of Lunenburg.

For over forty years, Mr. Duval worked as an operating engineer at Fitchburg Paper Company in Fitchburg, retiring in 2003.

During the Vietnam era he served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 429 and had been a faithful supporter of .

DUVAL -- Graveside services with military honors will be held 2 PM Monday, January 28, 2013 at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.

Mr. Duval's family will receive family and friends on Monday from 12:30 -- 1:30PM at the Louis M. Isabelle Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon Street, Fitchburg. Please see for additional information.
