Welthy A. Valliere
Beloved mother and grandmother

LEOMINSTER -- Welthy A. Valliere passed away on April 16, 2013, her 90th birthday. She died at home, after a brief illness, with her family by her side. She was the daughter of Willie Burns and Lena Belle (Hildreth) Burns of Leominster.

Welthy was born and lived in Leominster her entire life. She worked for several local manufacturing companies, most notably Union Products. She may be best remembered for the years she worked at her family's store, Big Al's, in Ashby where she provided excellent service and dispensed motherly advice to generations of customers. She truly put 'family' into the family business.

Welthy was a wonderful grandmother who, in later years, provided day care for many of her grandchildren. She was a strong and loving influence on them and they fondly remember Grandma's house rules, the importance of punctuality, and their favorite lunch of hot dogs, rice-a-roni, and cheerios.

She is survived by her children, Dean Valliere and his wife, Shauneen of Leominster, Bruce Valliere and his wife, Sherrie of Shrewsbury, Lois Wortley and her husband, Tim of Lancaster, Sharon Davi and her husband, Steve of Leominster, and her daughter-in-law, Jean Valliere, of Leominster. She is also survived by her sister, Athena Tisdale of Leominster. She leaves 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her eldest son, Albert Valliere, Jr., who passed away in 2008.

VALLIERE -- Funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cup Crusaders, a Leominster-based fundraising team committed to preventing and curing breast cancer, c/o Kathy DiRusso, 228 Bayberry Hill Lane, Leominster, MA 01453.
