LANCASTER -- Wesley W. Thomas, 98, of Lancaster, died Thursday evening, January 17, 2013 in the Lifecare Center of Leominster, after an illness.

He was born October 5, 1914 in Leominster, the son of Harry and Luella (Rand) Thomas, and moved to Lancaster many years ago.

Mr. Thomas spent his entire life operating the Thomas Poultry and Egg Farm with his wife, Jeannette. Together they provided area customers with fresh chickens, eggs, tasty recipes, warm conversation, and tips on how to grow and care for plants. He had a zest and respect for life and the dignity of working his farm.

He leaves sisters-in-law, Constance Comeau of Leominster and Joan Fontaine of Fitchburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Jeannette (Fontaine) Thomas in 2006, his brother, Raymond, sister, Viola and sister-in-law, Constance Fontaine.

THOMAS -- A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 11 am in the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster.
