Former owner of Pauline's Variety in Ayer; 85

AYER -- Yvon J. LeBlanc, 85, of Ayer, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at Apple Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

His wife of 58 years, Pauline (Maillet) LeBlanc, died February 8th.

Mr. LeBlanc was born in Canada, February 21, 1928, the son of Edward LeBlanc and Jeanne LeBlanc Despres and moved to Ayer in 1967.

As a young man, he served in the Canadian Navy. He enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, was an avid reader and enjoyed going to yard sales.

He leaves his son, Edward LeBlanc of Lunenburg; four daughters, Brenda Giambusso and Marina Bacon, both of Shirley, Pauline Dionne of Canada, Joanne Pinto of Sacramento, California; a brother, Ulysse LeBlanc of Canada; two sisters, Alida LeBlanc and Colomber Belliveau, both of Canada. He also leaves
14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

For over 30 years, with his wife, he owned and operated LeBlanc Variety and more recently Pauline's Variety, both in Ayer. They retired in 1999.

LeBLANC -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Thursday, February 28th at St. Mary's Church, 31 Shirley Street, Ayer. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
