A. Patricia (Maloney) Cooley, 87
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Sister Red Cross Volunteer for over 50 Years
Westminster - A. Patricia Cooley, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday morning, September 26, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Her husband, James Francis Cooley, died on May 30, 2016.
She leaves four sons, Jim Cooley of Oak Bluffs, MA, Paul Cooley and his partner David Ross of Hollywood, FL, Tom Cooley and his wife Fran of Westminster, and Michael Cooley and his wife Tracey of Leominster; a daughter-in-law, Jan Cooley of Erie, PA; six grandchildren, Patrick Cooley and Jenna Cooley of Erie, PA, USAF Captain Cassandra (Cooley) O'Connor and her husband Sean O'Connor of Oklahoma City, OK, Brianna Cooley of Hartford CT, Michael Cooley of Australia and Stephen Cooley of Leominster; three sisters, Margaret Aaron of Virginia Beach, VA, Helen Collins of Westminster, and Mary Daly of Quincy; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patricia was predeceased by a sister, Virginia "Ginger" Maguire.
Patricia was born in Boston, MA on February 10, 1930, a daughter of the late Patrick J. and Margaret (Murphy) Maloney. She graduated from Girls High School in Boston. Patricia worked for Boston Edison as a civilian in the Air Force and volunteered for many different organizations, including St. Edward the Confessor Church for more than 12 years, and for the American Red Cross for over 50 years. She led fund raising for over 15 years for the Paul A. Dever School for Mentally Retarded Children and for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Patricia enjoyed her long-time membership in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Boston Fire Department for over 30 years.
Cooley - Patricia's funeral will be held on Saturday, September 30th from the Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA with a mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, 10 Church Street, Westminster, MA.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Ellis and Knower Roads, Westminster, MA.
Calling hours will be in the funeral home on Friday, September 29, 5pm to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster Firefighters Relief Association, 7 South Street, Westminster, MA 01473.
