FITCHBURG -- Angel L. Gonzalez, 70, of Athol, formerly of Fitchburg and Leominster, died Monday, March 25, 2013, in the Heywood Hospital in Gardner.
He was born in Salinas, Puerto Rico, on March 24, 1943, a son of the late, Matias and Mercedes (Rodriquez) Gonzalez, and has lived in the Fitchburg/Leominster area since 1985.
Angel was a machinist at Union Plastics in Leominster for several years prior to his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, and was a skilled woodworker.
He leaves a daughter, Marriane Gonzalez; two grandchildren, Jaden Gonzalez and Nicholas Gonzalez; three brothers, Francisco Gonzalez, Annibal Gonzalez, and Eugenio Gonzalez; four sisters, Margarita Gonzalez, Maria Morales, Milagros "Millie" Rodriquez, and Genoveva Algarin; and several nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by his wife, Erna (Weber) Gonzalez, and a brother William Gonzalez.
GONZALEZ -- His funeral will be held on Monday, April 1, at 5 PM in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. A calling hour will be held on Monday afternoon prior to the funeral from 4 to 5 PM.
