Antonina DiGeronimo Obituary
Antonina DiGeronimo
Active at St. Anna's Church, Leominster; 96

LEOMINSTER -- Antonina (Nitti) DiGeronimo, 96, formerly of Salisbury St., Leominster, passed away on June 26, at the Life Care Center of Leominster.

She leaves a son, Rev. Michael A. DiGeronimo, Pastor of Saint Mark's Parish in Sutton; her nieces, and extended family.

Antonina was predeceased by her husband, Antonio J. DiGeronimo; her sisters, Antoinette DiNatale and Maria Addorisio; and her brother, Joseph Nitti.

Antonina was a Saleslady for many years at Rodgers in Fitchburg, and later worked in the family business, People's Super Market in downtown Leominster for many years. She was born in Castellana, Bari, Italy and came to Massachusetts when she was 5 years old. She was a gracious lady, known for her welcoming and gentle personality which extended not only to family, but to her many customers whom she served over the years.

She and Tony had long, happy retirement years together, highlighted by helping look after Jeff and Steve St. Laurent, and were adopted as "grandparents". She babysat their children into her 90's and enjoyed every minute. She was a person of faith, and a good Catholic; a longtime member of Saint Anna's Church in Leominster and the Saint Anna's Society.

The last year and a half of her life was spent at the Life Care Center of Leominster, and her family would like to thank everyone there for their loving and personal care of "Nina"; we so appreciated your kindness to her.

DiGERONIMO -- Her funeral will be held from the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg on Tuesday, July 1, with a Mass in Saint Anna's Church, 199 Lancaster St., Leominster at 11:00 AM, with her son, Rev. Michael A. DiGeronimo as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Saint Bernard's Cemetery in Fitchburg. Calling hours will be held Monday, June 30, from 4-6 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Saint Anna's Parish, 199 Lancaster St., Leominster, MA 01453.
