ASHBURNHAM The Gelinas family, and all those who loved him, mourn the sudden passing of Hunter on Oct. 16, 2012. Born on March 20, 1965, and raised in Fitchburg, MA, he graduated from Saint Bernard's High School and went on to earn a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 1988. Prior to owning his current business, Gelinas Realty, Hunter worked as a salesman for Comasec Safety, then a national sales representative for Peltor Safety Products, then as a sales representative for The Sullivan Group, and then became president and owner of Sun Mountain Products. For over twenty-four years, Hunter also dedicated countless hours volunteering as a member of the National Ski Patrol, achieving Certified #485. His time included assisting the skiing public and training other Ski Patrol members at Wachusett Mountain Ski Area.
A loving husband and father, Hunter is survived by his wife Sherry Gelinas of Ashburnham, MA, son Alex, and daughter Isabel. Raised in a large and loving family, he is also survived by his parents, Paul and Karen Gelinas of Windsor, CT; and siblings Paul Gelinas Jr. and his wife Mena of Leominster, MA; Patrice Lincoln and her husband Jim Concannon of Fitchburg, MA; Sara Smith and her husband Peter of Windsor, CT; Christopher Gelinas and his fiancée Kimberly Gibbons of Windsor, CT; and Kate Hall and her husband Delmon of Love, VA. Hunter is predeceased by his sister, Susan. He was an amazing uncle to 17 nieces and nephews.
He was known by all as an avid outdoorsman, sports enthusiast, and patriot. People became friends with Hunter the moment they met him. Let his caring spirit, laughter, and love of helping others around him live on in our hearts and give us strength to know he is at peace.

GELINAS -- His funeral will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, from the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 46 Woodland St. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 4 to 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wachusett Mountain Ski Patrol - Hunter Gelinas Fund, 499 Mountain Rd., Princeton, MA 01541.
