Clairmont O. "Clem" Jacques
lifelong resident of Fitchburg; 88

FITCHBURG -- Clairmont O. "Clem" Jacques, 88, of Fitchburg, died Monday, September 9, 2013, at Health Alliance - Leominster Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Clem was born in Fitchburg, April 16, 1925, a son of Alfred and Clara (Sylvain) Jacques and was a lifelong Fitchburg resident.

During WW II he served his country in the United States Army. For over thirty years, Mr. Jacques worked as a flooring installer for Delisle Flooring Company in Leominster. He retired in 1985.

He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Fitchburg. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed working on word search puzzles. He spent countless hours cutting wood on his land but his greatest joy was spending time with his eight children and their families.

He leaves his wife of 63 years, Viola (Goudreau) Jacques; four sons, Cliff C. Jacques of Manchester, NH, James F. Jacques and his wife, Jeannette and Brian A. Jacques all of Fitchburg, Bruce W. Jacques and his wife Debbi of Lunenburg; four daughters and sons-in-law, Linda M. and Herb Lashua of Westminster, Gail M. and Tom Albert of Lunenburg, Sharon M. and Gerry Lavoie, Renee M. and Gerry Vallee all of Fitchburg; three brothers, Wilfred Jacques of Leominster, Clarence Jacques and Alfred Jacques both of Fitchburg. He also leaves 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late John Jacques of Florida, Bernadette Martineau and Irene Demazure both of Fitchburg.

JACQUES -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, September 14th at St. Joseph's Church, 49 Woodland Street, Fitchburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
