Longtime Shirley resident; age 100
SHIRLEY -- Dorina E. (Bulger) Cartier, 100, a former resident of Chapel St. and Front St., died Thursday, December 20, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Lunenburg.
Her husband, Normand Cartier, died in 1984.
Mrs. Cartier was born in Ayer, March 11, 1912, a daughter of Michael and Philomena (Gionet) Bulger, and resided much of her life in Shirley. She had moved to Largo, Florida for 20 years before returning to this area in 1990.
She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Walter E. and Wendy Cartier of New Mexico; a daughter and son-in-law, Judith A. and Robert Viviano of Lunenburg; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Edmond Bulger of Georgia, Arthur Bulger of RI, Ethel Chaisson Meurer of Florida, Edward Bulger and Annie Wheeler, both of Shirley.
For 15 years, Mrs. Cartier worked as a secretary at the George Frost Company in Shirley.
Mrs. Cartier was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Shirley and a member of the Ladies Sodality there. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
CARTIER -- A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am, Monday, December 24, 2012 at St. Anthony's Church, 14 Phoenix Street, Shirley. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mrs. Cartier's family will receive family and friends on Monday from 9:00-10:30 AM at the T.J. Anderson & Son Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Road, (Rte. 2A), Ayer.
