Leominster- John H. Dowd (Jack), 72, of Leominster, passed away on May 5, 2012 comfortably at home surrounded by family.
John was born in Leominster on September 26, 1939, son of the late Henry and Esther (Rimbocchi) Dowd. He worked for many years, and retired from Mohawk Wire and Cable as a cable machine operator. John proudly served his country in the United States Army.
He belonged to the Leominster Sportsman's Club. John was an outdoors-man, enjoying hunting and fishing. He also loved flea markets and attending his grandchildren's baseball games. John truly adored his grandchildren.
He leaves his son, Corey Dowd of Lunenburg; daughter, Hali Brosseau and her husband Kevin of Leominster; grandchildren, Wesley Brosseau and his wife Rayane, Brent Brosseau, and Wyatt Dowd; his former wife, Marlene Spinelli of Leominster; brother, Robert Dowd of Leominster;Jack and Ann Deel of Leominster; many nieces and nephews, and close friends and neighbors. John was predeceased by his two sisters, Carol LeBlanc and Mary Fitch, brother in law Rodney E Fitch Sr, and Best Friend Ernest E Bergeron Jr.
Funeral services, as requested by the family, will be private for relatives and friends of Jack. Calling hours are Tuesday May 8th 9AM - 11:30 with services to follow at Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg.
