LEOMINSTER -- Gary B. Walker, age 65, of Leominster, entered Eternal Rest on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012, following a battle against cancer.
Gary was the son of the late Richard and Elaine Walker. He graduated Mahar Reg'l. High School Class of 1965, and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in August that same year. He honorably discharged as a Sergeant in August 1969 after being assigned to the 1st Mobile Communications Group (The First Mob) in Southeast Asia serving in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Thailand.
Later he attended Pasadena City College in CA, Greenfield Community College and M.I.T. in Boston, and had been a talented printed circuit board designer for more than 40 years. Some of his notable achievements were with General Dynamics Convair Division in technological development of the Cruise Missile and the F14 Tomcat. He had designed PCB's for various companies and then worked as a consultant since the 1970s in San Diego and New England.
He leaves a son, Andrew of North Carolina; sisters, Cheryl (& Tom) Forest of Orange, and Linda (& Tim) Croughwell of Athol; brother, Gregg (& Lisa) in California; two grandchildren, Keith "Boomer" and Kailey, and many dear friends, especially, Gail Peterson, whose special loving care through his final illness will forever be remembered. He now joins his late parents, son, Derek, and daughter, Amy in Eternity.
