Loving mother, grandmother, and aunt; 90

LEOMINSTER -- Gladys (Cocci) Iannacone, 90, of Leominster, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at home with her family by her side.

Gladys was born in Leominster on August 9, 1922, a daughter of the late Dominic and Santerella (DiMarzio) Cocci. She was a 1939 graduate of Leominster High School. She worked for 20 years for the former Standard Pyroxoloid Plastic Company in Leominster, and then for the E.I. Dupont Company for two years.

She was a very giving person, who volunteered at the Fallon Clinic in Leominster. Gladys loved to summer in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, and spend the winter in Daytona Beach, Florida with her husband, Michael.

She leaves her son, Michael J. Iannacone and his wife, Diane of Leominster; her daughter, Carole Borja of Fitchburg; four grandchildren, Brian Iannacone of Leominster, Dean Iannacone of Winchendon, Kevin Iannacone of Leominster, and Cari Borja of California; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Gladys was predeceased by her husband, Michael Iannacone in 2007, and was the last of eight children in her family, having been predeceased by her six brothers and one sister.

IANNACONE -- The funeral will be held from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg, on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 with a Mass in St. Anna's Church at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in the MA Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 9:30-11:00 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or to Ginny's Thrift Shop, 52 Mechanic St., Leominster, MA 01453.
