LUNENBURG -- Hazel J. (Paradise) LaCoss 82, of Lunenburg, MA. passed away peacefully Monday morning October 14, 2013 in the Highlands.
She was born on September 18,1931 in Fitchburg, MA. the daughter of Albert and Carrie Belle (Taylor) Paradise. She was raised in Fitchburg, MA. where she attended and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1949. She also attended Nursing School in Wellsley, MA. Hazel worked for the Lunenburg School Dept for 18 years. She worked at Turkey Hill Middle School and T.C. Passios Elementary School in the cafeteria. She retired several years ago.
Hazel enjoyed artex fabric painting, cake decorating and especially baking. She lived in Lunenburg for the past 56 years, and attended Lunenburg United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her three children, two sons, Jeffrey S. LaCoss of Greenville N.H., Kenneth M. LaCoss and his wife Lynne of Westminster, MA., her daughter Cynthia A. Zarella and her husband Alfred of Leomisnter, MA., four grandchildren, Cory and Joshua Zarella, Alicia Ellis and her husband Michael, and Taylor LaCoss, one great-grandson Myles Ellis and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother Lewis Paradise and her sister Irene LaCoss. Her husband of 58 years, Mark LaCoss passed away in 2009.
LACOSS -- A funeral service will be held on Thursday October 17, 2013 at 11a.m. in The Lavery Chartrand & Alario Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg, MA. A calling hour will held at the funeral home Thursday morning from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The
