James E. Tole

LUNENBURG -- James E. Tole, 67, of Lunenburg, MA and Redington Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2013.
Jimmy was born in Worcester, MA on February 22, 1946 a son of the late Edward and Albert (Dearborn) Tole. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1964, and served in the Navy from 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1968. Jimmy spent 25 years in the trucking business and was the owner of Green Apple Transportation until retiring in 1996.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Claire Schmidt of Lunenburg; brother, Norman Beck and wife, Kathyrn of Auburn; sister, Marion Mason and husband, Robert of Sterling; daughter, Cynthia Rioux and grandson, Darren Rioux of Gardner; daughter, Shelby Tole and fiancé, Jeremy Letarte of Fitchburg.
Jimmy was predeceased by his younger brother, Tommy Tole.
Jimmy lived his life with passion, simply enjoying life every day. What he loved most was spending time with family and friends. A friend who never met a stranger. Wherever Jimmy went, everyone knew his name. His dazzling smile and laugh was contagious. He was always the "Go to Guy" when anyone ever needed advice on anything. Just ask Jimmy.
Jimmy loved the water, boating, jet skiing and kayaking; he could be on the lake all summer waving to neighbors and friends. Known for his kindness and generosity, he was always helping out friends and neighbors, fixing just about anything. With a great sense of adventure, he was an avid worldly traveler. He frequently enjoyed attending concerts, festivals, and dancing the night away. Everyone wanted to be his dance partner. He loved to cook for friends and family and was always sharing new recipes.
Jimmy was an animal lover, always adopting pets that needed a loving home. He had an unconditional love and bond with all his animal companions.
Everyone experienced the Jimmy and Claire Love Story. It was a truly unique, special, caring, kind of love and friendship.
Jimmy passed away after a five year battle with Lung Cancer.
The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Leena Gandhi and the Clinical Research team at Dana Farber. The wonderful staff of Worcester Oncology and Hematology and the late Dr. Gary Tanguay and Trina Bertel who saved his life by early detection.
Memories of Jimmy will be special treasures that we can cherish in our hearts forever.
TOLE -- Please join in a celebration of Jimmy's life on Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg, MA 01420 at 1:00 PM. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
